Founded in 1996, the Vietnamese-American Public Affairs Committee (VPAC) is committed to increasing the participation of Vietnamese Americans in the political process. Our activities focus on voter education, grassroots organizing, issue advocacy, and candidate endorsement.
VPAC's advocacy is driven by two major concerns. First, we are interested in maximizing the opportunities of all Americans in society. And, second, because many of our members were once political refugees, we are strong supporters of human rights around the world, including Vietnam.
VPAC endorses candidates who share our views--on social justice at home and human rights abroad--and who will advance those principles while in office. Our support includes helping candidates reach out to the Vietnamese American community, assisting with get-out-the-vote efforts, and fundraising.
VPAC is a national organization with membership in areas where there is a Vietnamese American community. Our membership consists of college youths, young professionals, established entrepreneurs and elder leaders of our community.
Since VPAC's concerns cut across party lines, we work with both Democratic and Republican elected officials. |
